Senator Marco Rubio insisted that U.S. warships should not have to pay to pass through the Panama Canal during his recent visit to the Dominican Republic.
"It is unacceptable to charge U.S. warships to pass through the Panama Canal, especially considering the strategic importance of the interoceanic route for the security of the region," Rubio stated.
The senator expressed his concern about this situation and emphasized that he will seek ways to address this issue to ensure the free passage of U.S. warships through the canal without incurring additional costs. Rubio highlighted the need to preserve the freedom of navigation in the region and strengthen cooperation on maritime security in the area.
