The Dominican Republic baseball team has announced its final roster for the 2026 World Classic, which will be held in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Japan. The team will be led by star players such as Juan Soto, Manny Machado, and Fernando Tatis Jr., under the guidance of head coach Albert Pujols.
The selected pitchers are: Albert Abreu, Sandy Alcántara, Elvis Alvarado, Brayan Bello, Huascar Brazobán, Seranthony Domínguez, Camilo Doval, Carlos Estévez, Wandy Peralta, Dennis Santana, Luis Severino, Gregory Soto, Cristopher Sánchez, Edwin Uceta, and Abner Uribe.
For the catchers, the selected players are Agustín Ramírez and Austin Wells. The infielders are Junior Caminero, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Manny Machado, Ketel Marte, Geraldo Perdomo, Jeremy Peña, Amed Rosario, and Carlos Santana; and the outfielders are Oneil Cruz, Julio Rodríguez, Johan Rojas, Juan Soto, and Fernando Tatis Jr.
The Dominican Republic, in Group D, will begin its participation in the 2026 World Classic against Nicaragua on March 6. Subsequently, they will face the Netherlands on March 8, Israel on March 9, and conclude the round-robin stage on March 11 against Venezuela.
This Dominican team won the competition in 2013 by defeating Puerto Rico in the final. In the last edition of the World Classic in 2023, the Japanese team won after defeating the United States in the final, while the Dominican team was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
The Dominican Professional Baseball League stated on its website that this team "looks like one of the most complete in the tournament with a powerful offensive lineup and a deep pitching staff, both in the rotation and in the bullpen".
